Paddling Photo Index
I've been fooling around with photography for about 30
years. I used to know a lot more about f-stops and depth of field etc than I
do now but the camera I now use - the Fuji S9000 has automatic settings that are pretty idiot proof
as well as the same manual settings of a 35mm film camera.
I think my biggest asset has
always been that I think I know what constitutes a good picture and how to frame it
properly. Beyond that, I would classify myself as a "serendipitous"
photographer i.e. : I'm extremely lucky. I guess I do get myself out there
in some areas where most people don't go and therefore have the opportunity
to take some shots most people don't get. I'm also out there A LOT and for
me taking close to 1000 pictures in a week is not unusual.
The earliest photos on this site are taken with a Kodak DC50
digital and a Nikon AF4004 35mm film camera. I purchased my first "good"
digital camera around 2002 and since then I have taken pretty much
exclusively digital photos. I've used various versions of Photoshop over the
years to edit and enhance my pictures and it has saved a lot of poor shots.
So... enjoy the pics.
NOTE: I've had to take the vast majority of these
photos off-line due to the space limitations of my old hosting
service. The galleries still exist on my old site's photo page for now and you can
still see the
thumbnails but you won't be able to view the actual photo unless the date is
very recent. I have moved some of them to my
Flickrsite and I have just started moving the site over to my new
hosting service which will eventually allow me to put most of my photos back
up. For the time being - expect a lot of broken links and for that I
apologize.
The photo galleries in RED
do not exist on this site yet. They might exist on
Flickr.
